An Open Letter From a Libertarian

LewRockwell.com, a hotbed of Libertarian activity, has this open letter from Tom Chartier basically telling how he and many other Libertarians feel about the recent election.

Although Libertarians have traditionally sided with the Republicans, that has begun to change during the Bush administration. It has little to do with Iraq or most of the other issues the politicians have focused on; the change has been caused by the basic fact that George W. Bush and the Republicans in Congress have not been libertarian. They've promoted big government and in exchange of basic rights for what they tell us are "safety concerns."

Libertarians are not happy with this. The Patriot Act was a dagger in their hearts, because it goes against everything they stand for. They did not vote against Republicans because they were in the same party as Bush. They voted against Republicans because the actively HELPED George W. Bush take away their rights.
