Libby Destroyed Evidence; Cheney Deeply Involved - ThinkProgress
Prosecutors in the perjury case against former VP chief of staff Scooter Libby have revealed part of their hand, and it doesn't look good for Scooter or Dicky.
Scooter testified before a grand jury regarding the Joe Wilson/Valerie Plame leak, telling them that it was someone from the media who told him that Plame was a CIA agent. It has now been revealed that that is almost certainly a lie. Libby received the information from Cheney, and there is even significant evidence that Cheney actually directed Libby to leak the information to the media.
It goes even further than that. The specific motive for leaking, which was to get back at Joe Wilson's investigation of the dubious Niger/uranium connection, is actually stated right there in evidence obtained by prosecutors.
