| The DeLorean was introduced in 1981 and was discontinued in 1983.
The late John Z. DeLorean, formerly known as the man who helped
produce the Pontiac GTO, the first muscle car, created the DeLorean
Motor Company in an effort to introduce the world to a car design
that none of the mainstream car companies would consider selling.
The DeLorean DMC-12 was the only car ever made with the DeLorean
name. The car gained popularity several years after it was discontinued
when it was featured in the Back to the Future movie trilogy. |
