Britney Spears has admitted that she made a mistake when she decided to drive her SUV with her 5-month-old baby sitting on her lap.
When the story first broke, Spears said that she was harassed by the paparazzi and felt she and her baby were in danger when they got in the car. X17, the agency that took the pictures, claimed they were taken in a peaceful context. The pictures depicted Spears driving with her son in her lap, and she did not appear to be distressed. In fact, in a few pictures she appeared to be smiling and having fun letting her little baby "help her" drive. If she had been in an accident, she would have learned that her vehicle already had an airbag for the driver, so using her baby for extra cushion was unnecessary.
Spears now just says that the paparazzi were really bad one day last week, and she "did what she had to do." Translation: I saw a guy with a camera as I got in my car, so I decided to endanger the life of my child by letting him ride on my lap, because I knew the guy would take a picture of me driving, and I thought it would look cute if my little boy was helping me."
