Apocalypto Wins Big At Box Office

It seems fickle American's have already forgiven Mel Gibson for the unfortunate comments he made this past summer. His uber-violent Apocalypto will take the #1 spot at the box office this weekend, according to various sources. The Mayan epic, like Gibson's Passion of the Christ, is not in English. The Mayan language is still spoken by a few hundred thousand people today.

The Holiday, a star-driven flick with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, will finish #2 this week. It's a completely forgettable film, but we do love holiday movies around the holidays. Don't expect to see this running on ABC Family every December. Once you see it once, you'll wonder why you keep going to see crappy movies with big stars.

Happy Feet, the animated penguin movie, will finish 3rd this week. The movie has been criticized by ultra-sensitive Fox News for being too political. The network is still trying to cope with the most recent elections. At this time, it's best to keep a safe distance and keep things apolitical. If you're looking to buy John Gibson or Bill O'Reilly a Christmas gift, I suggest a box of tissues.

Studio 60 In The Can

NBC will cancel Studio 60, according to rumors floating around the interwebs, which are always true. The show had its brief moments, but was basically a big stinkfest.

I hate to bring up my award winning thesis paper again, but I think this just proves once again how right I was. Nobody from "Friends" can act. It was a show that relied entirely on its writers and a diehard fan base. Jennifer Aniston has had some hit movies, but that's only because she gets big roles she does not deserve. She was with Brad Pitt for a few years, and then he dumped her, so America thinks it has to support her. Did she deserve "Along Came Polly"? That movie wasn't even that good. Ben Stiller just happens to be funny as hell. The only Aniston movie I like is Office Space, and she was hardly the reason I loved it. Anyway, this was just another project involving a former Friend, and another failure.

The cast of Friends made a ton of money. Maybe they should all just retire before they ruin all the good memories America has of their hit buddy TV show.
