Buy the Right Gift for Your Loved Ones' Birthday or Holiday
Finding the perfect
gift for your friend or loved one can be a major hassle. I'm going to
make the same recommendation as I do for most other purchases: buy it
online.
If you don't really know the person who you are giving a gift to, go with something generic. Scented candles always make a great gift. If you think the person has a bit of a wild side go with a lava lamp. Electronics nuts will always enjoy one of those little USB storage devices. What I'm trying to get at is that your gift should be a reflection of how well you know the person. Do not give a very personal or intimate gift (lingerie, or even perfume) to someone you hardly know. I can't stress enough how awkward the whole perfume thing can be, because people tend to be very picky about the odor they want to have. They may act like they like it, but chances are they are wondering if you think they smell bad.
Gift certificates make great gifts for someone you don't know very well, or for your boyfriend. Girlfriends, however, can have a big problem with a gift like this. They think it shows how little you care. To them, a gift certificate is almost the same as just giving cash. There may be some women out there who enjoy getting cash for their birthday, but most want something a little more intimate.
It's important to plan ahead with your gift purchases. Keep track of dates you need to remember, like your partners birthday, and the day you met. Christmas is on December 25, make sure to circle that one on your calendar, it's a biggy.
