RIAA brings new round of lawsuits

The RIAA filed another round of lawsuits against file sharers today, targetting 751 people from several different colleges. Among the colleges issued subpoenas were Harvard University; where students who pay $40,000/year for school can't afford to pay $1 for the latest John Mayer hit (and let's face it, John Mayer is the only musician Harvard students are interested in), and the University of Southern California. I'm guessing the RIAA went after USC because they want to piggyback off the Trojans' popularity as the school gets ready for the national championship game against Texas next month. I suggest the Harvard students find someone at Harvard Law School to advise them, I hear those people are really smart. In fact, everyone facing a lawsuit should grab a Harvard Law student. They may not have a license to practice law, but it seems like that's unnecessary to fight lawsuits from the RIAA. As a matter of fact, not one person who has fought a lawsuit against the RIAA has lost. Not one. Most people just settle. I suggest you find a lawyer (or student, if you're cheap and want to do things the less-than-legal way) and do battle with an industry that looks tough, but is really soft as a kitten.
