RIAA Sues 83-Year-Old Downloader...

Even though she has been dead for 2 years.

Gertrude Walton died in 2004, but the RIAA still thought she was illegally sharing over 700 songs on P2P networks. She never owned a computer, and actually was very anti-PC, not allowing them in her house. That apprently didn't stop her from dishing out the latest ODB and Busta Rhymes tunes. Shame on you granny, taking money right out of the artists pockets because they have flesh and you're a ghost.

The RIAA needs to be stopped. I encourage all lawyers-in-training to consider forming a large group of legal minds to fight the idiocy and political clout of the RIAA. They have politicians in their pockets, expanding laws to make criminals out of petty music downloaders and elderly women who have done nothing wrong (I have no idea how they keep falsely accusing these people who have never even owned a computer). A strong group of lawyers could put their power in check, much like Ralph Nader's group (dubbed "Nader's Raiders") were able to put the entire automotive industry under their thumb in the 1960's. The car makers hated it, but a lot of you reading would not be alive right now were it not for the safety devices they forced the industry to develop and use.

We can't fight the RIAA with useless online petitions and sternly-worded letters. They need to be fought with legal might. Forget about becoming an ACLU lawyer, you don't want to defend terrorists anyway. You want to defend the truly innocent and fight the evil corporations who do absolutely nothing for the public good. Are you happy that you have been made a criminal? And your brother, and sister, and mother too? If they've ever downloaded a song, dubbed a CD, or even taped a TV show, the RIAA and MPAA considers them criminals, and will do everything they can to fine them or even put them in prison. Yes, prison. A new amendment a 1997 copyright act in Texas could put petty downloaders in prison, all because a GOP congressman there is getting money hand over fist from the RIAA. Democracy, what a beautiful thing.
