Mesothelioma Lawsuits

Mesothelioma lawsuits have had a profound impact on class action law in the past 10 years. Since you are already reading this page, you probably already know that Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that forms in the chest cavity. In most cases it is caused by asbestos exposure, hence the lawsuits.

Although the original intention of using asbestos in buildings was to keep people safe by preventing fires, over the course of decades asbestos was found to be a cause of this very serious form of cancer. People who lived or worked in buildings containing asbestos were rarely exposed to the fibers that increase the chances of Mesothelioma. The people at greatest risk were the people who built the buildings or did construction and repairs on them.

Most Mesothelioma lawsuits are class action lawsuits, since it is fairly common for more than one person to suffer from the asbestos exposure caused while working with a single employer. Since there were so many different employers who exposed their workers to asbestos there have been many different class action lawsuits filed. You have probably seen dozens of commercials from law firms asking you to call them if you or a family member has mesothelioma. They are simply trying to collect many clients together so they can file class action suits against employers. The class action suits usually results in the biggest monetary awards, which will net the lawyers more money.

If you have Mesothelioma you'll want to do some research on your legal options, but sooner or later you'll find that should contact a lawyer. If you can identify where you may have been exposed to asbestos it might make it easier to determine if others were exposed and if any of them may be considering similar legal options.

I am not a lawyer, and there are no lawyers in my immediate family. The advice I give is based on my own experience and research I have done. I encourage you to do your own legal research and consult a lawyer with any questions you may have.
