<--- Click here to go back to Travel Homepage Why Make the Same Boring Vacation to Myrtle Beach When You Can Find that Unusual Location Nobody Else Knows AboutThere are so many
benefits to finding vacation locations that the general public has never
heard of. These places tend to be less crowded, with lower prices for
just about everything. They may be trying to grow into a popular travel
destination, so they will do anything to make you happy with your vacation
choice. Choosing the right
vacation is crucial when you've just got to get away. I think a lot of
people have found that travelling to the popular places has become expensive,
and a hassle. Search for those hidden gems, you'll find you can finally
relax on your vacation.
What kind of interests does your family have? Into the supernatural? Try taking a tour of some haunted houses. Are you a family of science buffs? Try taking a tour of a few museums. Baseball fans? Find next season's schedule and find a few games in the same region of the country (ie - Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York) on the same long weekend and plan a small major league tour. Has your family ever been to the Grand Canyon? Everyone should go there at least once in their life, and you can bet there won't be 10,000 drunk college kids passed out in front of your hotel (uggghhh, Myrtle Beach, the horror). There are also many other Earthly deformities that few people know about, such as Howe Caverns in Upstate New York (not far from Albany, which has a nice national airport). They are open year round, and don't worry about the temperature during the winter, the cavern stays a constant 52 degrees Faranheit year-round. Winery and brewery tours are another great way to spend a vacation, especially without the kids. I've found that they are located just about everywhere, so just pick an area you want to visit and then find the winery/brewery.
